Having always been personally involved in the defense of animal rights through her support of numerous initiatives aimed at their protection, the designer has now finally brought them together under a single project: the ELISABETTA FRANCHI FOUNDATION.
A brand that, in addition to a passion for fashion, conveys a very strong message and carries a mission: to “give a voice to those who have none” to those who, though they cannot speak, are able to say so much more through their eyes.
Building on the message it seeks to convey starting with the elimination of animal fur from its collections (followed by goose down and angora wool) Elisabetta Franchi has embarked on an increasingly ambitious journey focused on protecting animals. A path that foreshadowed the awareness people have today: animals are sentient beings, and like humans, they experience strong and indelible emotions.
Today, the Foundation carries out innovative projects focused on animal welfare, covering a wide range of areas, which very often also include support for vulnerable groups. The Foundation supports numerous dog shelters, sanctuaries for abused animals living in the wild, cat shelters, and emergency situations where prompt action is crucial to saving animals. We support the volunteers and feel part of their team, because it is thanks to them that, every day, thousands of animals can be cared for and loved.
“We don’t need to wear fur for the sake of vanity,” remains the Foundation’s guiding motto, and it aligns with the company’s internal philosophy. By joining the Dog Hospitality project in 2013, the company became the first in Italy to open its doors to employees’ pets, allowing them to bring their four legged friends to the office every day, which improves the work atmosphere and brings positivity.

All proceeds are donated to the Foundation to support projects aimed at protecting animals in need through food donations, assistance with adoption requests, efforts to combat abuse and abandonment, and fundraising for veterinary care.
The brand is committed to this cause by increasingly focusing on the use of cruelty-free and fur-free materials. This initiative aims for an increasingly responsible use of raw materials, gradually reducing the presence of animal-derived components, in line with the moral, social, and ethical principles that guide the company and which the Foundation embodies.
This project, like many promoted by the Foundation, stems from shared participation, from the desire to contribute to the common good and to a mission that is deeply felt and lived out every day. Numerous local and artisanal businesses have contributed to the realization of this initiative.
